Grant Writing Tip 5 – Keeping in touch with the funding body

The funding body is a key stakeholder in your projects from the conception to the acquittal of the grant. But how much investment do you spend in keeping the relationship alive?

Keeping in touch with the funding body

The funding body has a wealth of information to impart. Their skills and advice help you to understand the funding, get your project prepared and your grant ready for submission.

Their expertise doesn’t stop there and I know from experience that they will support you through the process to the acquittal.

What is easy to forget is the longer-term relationship. The human element. How often do you invite the funder to ongoing events? Do you send them a newsletter and keep them informed of your project or the organisational/participant journey long after their funding has ceased?

Grant Writing Tip 5 – Keeping in touch with the funding body

Seek to keep in contact with the funding body. Don’t forget them after the funding finishes and maintain their interest in your organisation. Who knows, you might get a chance to take work together again and build the momentum to further funded projects.

If anyone has questions they want to be answered in the Grant Writing Tips, send me a message via the contact page.

Happy writing!
