$500,000 in grants now open for state sporting organisations (Multiple opportunities – QLD)
State sporting organisations will share in $500,000 of funding under the Embracing 2018 Sports Grants program.
The funding will enable organisations which deliver sports featured in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games to further develop their sport in Queensland.
The program will help deliver innovative participation and sport development projects to enable Queenslanders of all ages and abilities to get involved in Commonwealth Games sports at the grassroots level.
Projects may be targeted to children or adults who are not active; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people; programs which decrease barriers to participation and enhance social cohesion; or coaching and officiating programs. The Embracing 2018 Sports Grants will also enable people of all abilities to experience Games’ sports through prioritised funding for disability inclusion projects.
The grants program will be delivered by the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing and is funded by the Australian Government, through the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games’ Embracing 2018 Legacy Program.
