Active Healthy NQ Grants Program aims to improve health outcomes and minimise risk of chronic disease in the Northern Queensland community.
The grants program provides funding for health promotion and illness prevention initiatives which aim to change community attitudes and behaviour, and create environments that support people to make healthier choices.
Round 4 will be a specified grants round targeting maternal and child health, health literacy, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth health. We are interested in applications which address one or more of the following activity areas:
Maternal and child health: develop and implement health promotion activities which focus on preventing alcohol, smoking and illicit drug use, and encourage women to seek support for use before and during pregnancy
Health literacy: develop and implement activities which aim to reduce inequalities in health, and improve health literacy
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth health (12 to 24 years): develop and implement health promotion activities which use innovative engagement strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to improve health outcomes.
